Here are some of the most popular episodes of Heartland on CBC Gem

Earlier this week, I asked Heartland fans on Twitter what episodes (from any season) they watched recently. With 14 seasons behind us and 224 episodes, it's not surprising that you are all currently focused on different parts of the series.

After this tweet, I wondered: Are there any episodes of Heartland that have been more popular over the past year?  Since I have access to this kind of behind-the-scenes information about CBC Gem, I thought I would try to find out.  

And find out I did! 

I excluded Season 14 for this particular list because a lot of you haven't seen it, and it's not available everywhere yet.  But, if you do want to check it out, all of Heartland Season 14 is available on CBC Gem. The list I put together today are not based on what our opinions are about which episodes are the best, but are instead some of the most popular episodes of Heartland, over the past year, based on how often they were viewed on CBC Gem. Here what fans have been watching:

Season 13, Episode 10 - The Passing of the Torch

When fears of holding on or letting go grip the family, they look to each other for support through dangerous challenges.

Season 12, Episode 11 - Room To Grow

When Jack finds out Will Vernon's wild horses are in danger, the family rallies behind him to bring them home. Meanwhile Amy and Ty face an important decision regarding Luke, but news from Clint may change everything. And while Lou tries to hold her peace about Mitch's wedding, Tim's goading weakens her resolve. In the meantime, Georgie wrestles with a decision that could take her away from her family, and Jack and Lisa reconnect after their time apart.

Season 12, Episode 4 - Risk and Reward

Amy and Ty take Lyndy on her first camping trip, but things go awry when they find an injured animal along the way. Meanwhile, when Jade takes a bad fall in a bronc riding accident, Tim and Georgie must convince her to see a doctor before she ends up in a dangerous situation. And when Georgie starts working with her new coach, the advice she's given leaves her questioning her priorities. At the same time, Tim makes a nuisance of himself in his new home, causing Jack to call him out.

Season 1, Episode 3 - Breaking Free

Lou wants to hold an open house for Heartland. Amy is against it, since she's managed to drum up some high profile clients on her own. Clients like Lisa Stillman, a well-known horse breeder who entrusts Amy with Promise, a valuable horse who refuses to be saddled. But there's no way Lou can cancel, especially since she's secretly invited their father, Tim, to see Amy for the first time in ten years.

Season 2, Episode 1 - Ghost Horse

It's been four months since Ty's sudden departure, and Amy has moved on and gotten used to working with Heartland's new stable hand. She attempts to gentle a captured wild mustang. Lou plans a surprise birthday party for her sister. But that's not the only thing she's been planning. We also meet Mallory's parents for the first time.

Season 10, Episode 18 - Great Expectations

Amy, Ty, and the entire Heartland family are thrilled to welcome a new member into the fold. Meanwhile, the ghost horse returns and Amy disagrees with Georgie's plan to capture and gentle him.

Season 8, Episode 18 - Written in Stone

In order to give Amy and Ty the wedding they really want, Lou struggles to deal with a slew of last minute hurdles.

Season 7, Episode 2 - Living The Moment

Amy and Ty find the ranch of their dreams, while Peter attempts to mediate when Georgie and Olivia come to blows.

Side note: This episode contains one of my favourite lines from Heartland:  "Lou!  Where are my trucks?!" 

Season 2, Episode 15 - Dark Horse

Lou resurrects the Hudson Derby, stirring up an age-old grudge match between Jack and Tim.

Season 9, Episode 5 - Back in the Saddle

As Amy and Georgie prepare to compete in a cowboy competition, Georgie guilts Jack into helping her train on a new horse in the hopes he will fall in love with the animal.
