The Saskatchewan Roughriders depth chart has even more whiteout on it following a busy Tuesday.

The Riders didn't waste time making roster moves following their sixth straight loss.

After a week of speculation, the Riders officially added quarterback Blake Sims to the practice roster.

Sims (5-11, 218 pounds) spent four seasons with one of the most prestigious and successful university football programs in the world — the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Last season, the 23-year-old started all 14 games for Alabama throwing 28 touchdowns passes and setting a single-season school record with 3,487 passing yards.

The Riders dropped receiver Scott McHenry on Tuesday. The former University of Saskatchewan product spent all of this season on the six-game injured list.

McHenry was entering his fifth season with the Green and White.

The Riders also released American linebacker Telvion Clark, who started in week one.

It appears receiver Jamel Richardson's return to the CFL and Saskatchewan is over, according to head coach Corey Chamblin, who spoke to CBC's Adam Hunter following Tuesday's practice.

Chamblin said receivers Korey Williams, Devin Wilson or Naiman Rooselvelt will likely take Richardson's place.

Chamblin not paying attention to rumours

On Monday, general manager Brendan Taman gave his coach a vote of confidence.

Chamblin said he didn't pay much attention to rumours he was about to be fired.

"I got all the texts and those things," Chamblin said Tuesday. "Like I told the players and the way I live my life is: you can only control what you can control. The decision is always up to those that have the power to make the decision. The decision was made and here we are right now."

The Riders are currently having their worst start to the season since 1979.

They'll hope to win their first game on Saturday in Toronto against the 3-2 Argonauts.
