Motorcyclist killed in Alaska Highway crash near Beaver Creek, Yukon
RCMP say Saskatchewan man was not wearing a helmet
A 56-year-old Saskatchewan man was killed Saturday after his motorcycle went off the Alaska Highway near Beaver Creek, Yukon.
RCMP say the man was about 20 kilometres north of Beaver Creek travelling south when he went off the road at about 11 a.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say he was not wearing a helmet. They say alcohol was not a factor.
The man was returning from a tour of Alaska with a friend, who was on a second motorcycle travelling behind him and witnessed the crash.
Police say they don't know why the bike went off the road. The man's Harley Davidson motorcycle was loaded with saddlebags and he was pulling a tent-trailer.
The Yukon Coroner's Office and Beaver Creek RCMP are investigating the incident with help from RCMP Traffic Services.
