Whitehorse man charged with 1st-degree murder of Christopher Brisson

A man in Whitehorse has been charged with the first-degree murder of a young man whose body was found in the city almost a year ago.

Investigators arrested Darryl Steven Sheepway, 38, Friday in connection to the death of 25-year-old Christopher Brisson.

Brisson's body was found Sept. 1, 2015 near Miles Canyon, three days after his family reported him missing

In January 2013, Brisson was sentenced to 45 months in Whitehorse prison for trafficking cocaine. 

Officials say investigators from Yukon RCMP's Major Crime Unit along with Yukon RCMP's Federal Investigation Unit, and officers from British Columbia and Whitehorse were involved in the investigation.

Sheepway is scheduled to appear in Whitehorse Territorial Court Sept. 9th.
