Whitehorse man found dead near Miles Canyon
Christopher Brisson, 25, was found deceased Tuesday evening
A body found near Whitehorse's Miles Canyon Tuesday evening is believed to be that of Christopher Brisson, a Whitehorse man who was reported missing last week.
Brisson, 25, was reported missing by a family member on Aug. 29, according to a press release from Whitehorse RCMP.
Whitehorse RCMP responded to a call that a body had been found on Sept. 1, at approximately 4 p.m. The response caused the Miles Canyon Road to be closed for a short period of time. At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, the access road into Miles Canyon was closed and a police dog and handler were on scene.
RCMP said that they are treating the death as suspicious, and it is under investigation by police.
In January 2013, a man named Christopher Brisson, then 23, was sentenced to 45 months in Whitehorse prison for trafficking cocaine.
Police are asking anyone with knowledge of Brisson's activities or whereabouts during the last several days or weeks to contact RCMP at (867) 667-5555.
