The father of Christopher Brisson is speaking out for the first time, as police continue a homicide investigation into his son's death.

25-year-old Brisson's body was found near Miles Canyon on Sep. 1. Family members had reported him missing three days earlier.

His father, Rock Brisson, wonders whether his son's death will ever be solved.

"[Are] the answers ever going to come? We don't know," Rock Brisson says.

Christopher Brisson had spent time in jail for trafficking cocaine, but his father believes he'd since turned his life around.

Still, Rock Brisson says he had a gut feeling something was wrong in the months leading up to his son's death.

"When you get involved in the kind of things he had been involved with, it's pretty hard to put it all behind," Rock Brisson says. "Sometimes it comes back to haunt you."

The RCMP aren't saying much about the case, but have said that it's a priority.

"A team of investigators continues to gather evidence and piece together the circumstances surrounding the death of Christopher Brisson," says Cpl. Natasha Dunmall of the Whitehorse RCMP.

Meanwhile, Rock Brisson is telling parents not to take time with their children for granted.

"Because tomorrow might never come," he says. "Just be close to them."

Rock Brisson says he's holding on to the only thing he can be sure of right now.

"The answer I have to keep in mind, for my own sanity, is that I had 25 years with my son."
