Whitehorse RCMP treating Christopher Brisson's death as homicide
Brisson's body was found Sept. 1 near Miles Canyon
Whitehorse RCMP said Monday they're investigating the death of 25-year-old Christopher Brisson as a homicide.
Brisson's body was found Sept. 1 in the Miles Canyon area of Whitehorse. His truck — a white, 2002 Chevrolet pickup — was found on McLean Lake Road.
Family members reported Brisson missing Aug. 29.
RCMP Const. Julia Fox said police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 867-667-5555. She said they're particularly interested to hear from anyone who saw Brisson near Hamilton Blvd., the Alaska Highway or McLean Lake Road.
"That can be any information," Fox said. "Sometimes people figure what they have may be insignificant, but sometimes it's those little things that help to complete a puzzle. So any and all information would definitely be appreciated at this stage."
In January 2013, a man named Christopher Brisson, then 23, was sentenced to 45 months in Whitehorse prison for trafficking cocaine.
Fox said Brisson's death marks the first homicide in Whitehorse this year.
