A woman was charged with impaired driving following a crash at a fast food restaurant in Corner Brook early Saturday morning.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary say a driver failed to make a turn in a drive-thru at the McDonald's on Confederation Drive, causing her vehicle to hit the wall of the building and subsequently collide with the rear of a second vehicle.

Police charged the 51-year-old woman with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with blood alcohol exceeding 80 mg.

She was issued a 90-day driving suspension and was held in custody overnight.

Damage as a result of the crash was minor.
