The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary received multiple calls about a possible impaired driver just after 5 p.m.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found the vehicle in a ditch on the side of the road.
The 20-year-old driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He was issued a seven-day licence suspension and the accident remains under investigation.
