Man dies after being found unresponsive on College Avenue in Winnipeg

A man died after he was found in critical condition in the North End last week, Winnipeg police say.

A man died after he was found in critical condition in the North End last week, Winnipeg police say.

Police were called about an unresponsive man on College Avenue, off Sinclair Street, just after 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 18. Officers provided emergency care before the man was sent to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The man has been identified as Shawn Douglas Thomas, 33, a member of Peguis First Nation who was living in Winnipeg.

The police service's homicide unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact them at 204-986-6508.
