Langley, B.C. sister duo Robyn and Ryleigh Gillesie bring their upbeat blend of traditional acoustic country and modern rock to the CBC Musical Nooners stage on Monday.

Robyn began writing songs at age 12 and taught herself how to play guitar. It wasn't long before Ryleigh began adding her own harmonies to her older sister's songs, creating what is now their signature sound.

They were discovered in 2010 by veteran country music producers David Wills and Paul Shatto, and released their debut EP Love Always later that year. 2013 saw the release of their first full-length album, Robyn & Ryleigh, which features songwriting contributions from Taylor Swift, among others.

On their website, Robyn and Ryleigh describe themselves as "authentic country girls singing about fast cars, boy and hot summer nights. Part mud, part makeup, part glamorous, part funny."
