A dynamic voice in Canadian folk, Lydia Hol brings her expressive voice and tasteful musical stylings to the CBC Musical Nooners stage on Monday.

Lydia Hol

Hol brings with her a delicate, elegant take on folk — simultaneously subtle and sultry, sometimes vulnerable, other times tenacious.

Her lyrics are a blend of traditional folk tales and original poetry, inspired by scenes from her own upbringing on the Pacific Coast.

Boats, Hol's debut EP, is to the ear like a decadent dark chocolate or rich rye whiskey is to the palate — a delicious balance of bitter and sweet.
