Gas jumps 3 cents in weekly PUB adjustment

All fuel prices increased in Newfoundland and Labrador on Thursday morning in the weekly adjustment from the Public Utilities Board. Gas went up by 3.0 cents per litre, raising the maximum price to $1.69 on the Avalon Peninsula.

All fuel prices are up in Newfoundland and Labrador Thursday morning, as the latest the weekly adjustment from the Public Utilities Board takes effect.

Gasoline has increased by 3.0 cents per litre, raising the price ceiling to $1.69 on the Avalon Peninsula, where gas tends to be cheapest. 

Across the island, the price of diesel motor fuel saw the biggest increase of 3.6 cents per litre, while in western Labrador and Churchill Falls, it went up slightly less, by 3.5 cents per litre.

Furnace oil heating fuel rose by 3.08 cents per litre. 

Stove oil climbed by 3.25 cents per litre in Newfoundland and by 3.02 cents in parts of Labrador.

Propane fuel also saw a hike of 0.5 cents per litre.
