Price increase on all fuel types across N.L. in weekly PUB adjustment
Gas hikes by 1.6 cents
The cost of fuel got a little bit more expensive on Thursday morning across Newfoundland and Labrador, as the latest weekly adjustment from the Public Utilities Board takes effect.
Gas increased by 1.6 cents per litre, raising the ceiling to $1.70 on the Avalon Peninsula, where gas tends to be cheapest.
In Newfoundland and in western Labrador and Churchill Falls, the price of diesel motor fuel went up by 5.2 cents per litre
Similarly, the price of propane heating fuel also increased by 5.2 cents per litre.
Furnace oil went up by 4.46 cents per litre.
Across the island, stove oil heating fuel saw a hike of 4.49 cents per litre, whereas in western Labrador and Churchill Falls went up by a little less, at 4.46 cents per litre.
In a statement, the PUB said the price changes are a result of changes in the market community prices.
"The board continues to monitor changes in market prices for motor fuels and heating fuels and will adjust maximum prices outside the scheduled adjustment as appropriate."
