Calvary FC scored two goals in five minutes to claim a comeback win against FC Edmonton in the first 'Al Classico' of the 2021 CPL season on Tuesday.

Calvary FC scored two goals in five minutes to claim a comeback win against FC Edmonton in the first 'Al Classico' of the 2021 CPL season on Tuesday.

English forward Joe Mason scored in the 64th minute to tie the game shortly before Dutch centre back Daan Klomp added a second for Calvary FC in the 71th minute.

23-year-old Canadian forward Easton Ongaro scored for the second game in a row to give FC Edmonton an early lead in the 19th minute.

Calvary FC improved to 5-2-3 and moved to third place in the standings with 17 points. They will host league leaders Valour FC at the ATCO Field on Sunday.

Edmonton FC dropped to 3-2-5 and remained fifth in the standings with 11 points. They will face Pacific FC at the Starlight Stadium in Langford, B.C. on Saturday.
