HFX Wanderers FC upset league leaders Valour FC to leave Winnipeg bubble on a high
Isaiah Johnston's volley lifts York United FC past FC Edmonton
Pierre Lamothe scored late in the first half to help the HFX Wanderers FC upset league leaders Valour FC with an 1-0 win in Canadian Premier League action on Saturday.
The 23-year-old midfielder got one past Valour FC's goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois in the 44th minute of the game. Lamothe's first goal for HFX Wanderers FC was also the first time Sirois was beaten in the current season.

The game finished the first part of the season, when all teams played on a bubble-environment system in Winnipeg, for both sides.
HFX Wanderers FC, who improved to 2-2-4, is seventh with eight points in the eight-team league. They will face Atlético Ottawa next at the Wanderers Grounds in Halifax next Monday.
Johnston scores volley in York United FC's victory
An early Isaiah Johnston volley was enough in terms of scoring for the York United to defeat FC Edmonton 1-0 in CPL action on Saturday.
The 19-year-old midfielder born in Mississauga, Ont. scored in the 12th minute of the first half. Edmonton had some late opportunities to tie the game, but York United's goalkeeper Nathan Ingham made five saves to keep the clean sheet.

The win propelled York United (2-3-3) from last to fifth in the standings with 9 points. They will face Forge FC at the York Lions Stadium in North York, Ont. on Friday. Edmonton (2-2-4) is sixth with eight points and will host Valour FC next at the Clarke Field on Saturday.
