Forge FC beats 10-men York United FC with early goal in 1st post-bubble CPL game

Mo Babouli scored early to help Forge FC defeat York United FC in the first CPL game of the season not held in the Winnipeg bubble on Friday.

Behind in the score since the fourth minute, York United's situation got harder when defender Dominick Zator was sent off at the 41st minute.

All teams played their first eight games of the season in a bubble environment at the IG Field in Winnipeg.

Forge FC, who finished the evening third in the standings with 15 points, improved to 5-0-4. York United FC, fifth in the eight-team league with nine points, dropped to 2-3-4.

Both teams will face each other again, this time at the Tim Hortons Field, in Hamilton, Ont. on Wednesday.

Marco Bustos, Gianni Dos Santos score in Pacific FC's win

Marco Bustos scored early and Gianni Dos Santos added a late insurance goal as Pacific FC got past Calvary FC 2-0 in CPL action on Friday.

The fourth and 86th minute goals were enough in terms of scoring for Pacific FC to improve to 5-2-2 and recover the second place in the standings with 17 points - briefly lost when Forge FC edged York United FC earlier.

Cavalry FC dropped to 4-2-3, sitting fourth in the standings with 14 points.

Pacific FC will host Valour FC next at the Starlight Stadium in Langford, B.C. on Wednesday. Calvary FC will also play at home when they host Edmonton FC at the ATCO Field in Foothills County, Alta on Tuesday.
