The Essex Region Conservation Authority is warning area homeowners to clear drains and inspect their properties with more rain in the forecast for Thursday.
Portions of Point Pelee Drive and Erie Shore Drive in Chatham-Kent were shut down Tuesday as water whipped up by strong winds washed over the roadways.
ERCA issued a flood warning and watches throughout the day as rain and gusting wind continued.
A rainfall warning from Environment Canada expects 40-70 mm of rain could fall between Thursday and Saturday for the Chatham -Kent and Windsor-Essex regions.
