Weather statement warns of local flooding in Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton and Windsor-Essex

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of southwestern Ontario, warning saturated ground could lead to local flooding later this week.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of southwestern Ontario, warning saturated ground could lead to local flooding later this week.

Rainfall amounts of up to 50 mm could hit some areas before showers taper off into the weekend, according to the weather authority.

Environment Canada said  it will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates throughout the week.
