May Street construction sends drivers on detour

One of the city's major road construction projects for this summer is underway.

Drivers are having to detour around parts of May Street for reconstruction of the water main, sanitary sewer and some new streetscaping.

Work began this week in the section between Dease and Bethune Streets. The work will continue southward, ending at Miles Street.

City of Thunder Bay officials estimate the whole project will take 16 weeks to complete.
