Harbour Expressway construction to begin today, after delays

Drivers used to taking the Harbour Expressway into, or out of, Thunder Bay will need to find a new route for the next month.

The resurfacing of the road, originally set to start on May 25, will begin Monday morning, according to the city.

Westbound lanes between Highway 11/17 and Golf Links Road will be closed for two weeks during the first phase of the project.

Further lane closures are expected after that for up to four weeks.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible until the work is complete.
