Health Sciences North asks people not to play Pokemon Go at the hospital
Health Sciences North wants people to avoid playing Pokemon Go on hospital property.
Dan Lessard, the media relations officer for the Sudbury hospital, is asking members of the public to respect patients who are receiving care.
"We encourage activity, we encourage fitness," he said.
"But for the safety, privacy and confidentiality of our patients and their families and our staff, let's just make sure all hospital property is a Pokemon Go-free zone. "
Lessard says the advisory was issued after two members of the public were seen playing the smartphone game at HSN last week. He also adds that this rule also applies to patients who want to play.
But while the hospital should remain free of Pokemon Go, Lessard wants people to keep playing outside because the game encourages physical activity.
"[What] we wanted to get out to the public was, enjoy the game," he said.
"We know a lot of people are playing it. It does promote activity. But, let's just not do it on hospital property because that's not really the place for it."
