Three people are dead following a collision between a tractor-trailer and a van on Highway 69.

The crash, which happened after 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, was near the Highway 529 exit to Magnetewan First Nation.

Police report the van exited Highway 529 onto Highway 69 and into the path of a tractor trailer.

William Tuck, 71, from Lake Helen First Nation, 13 year-old Ember Wynne and three-month-old Myah Kowtiash, both from Red Rock Township in northwestern Ontario, all perished in the collision.

Two passengers were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries, police said.
