3rd shooting in 3 days after man found near Alexandra Bridge
Man found on Ottawa side of Alexandra Bridge early Wednesday, police say shooting didn't happen there
Ottawa police are investigating a third shooting in as many days after an injured man was found near the Alexandra Bridge Wednesday morning.
Police and paramedics were called just after 3 a.m. about a 28-year-old man on the Ontario side of the bridge.
He was suffering from a gunshot wound in his torso and was taken to The Ottawa Hospital's Civic campus trauma unit in serious but stable condition.
Police don't yet know where the shooting occurred, and the victim is not co-operating with police.
The guns and gangs unit has been notified.
The shooting comes after two shootings on Monday afternoon.
The first happened at about 3 p.m. Monday when a 16-year-old boy was shot in the back in Sandy Hill. He was taken to hospital in serious condition.
The second happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday when a man was shot and injured near Merivale and Baseline roads. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Police say the two Monday shootings are unrelated.
