A 27-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated assault following a stabbing in Fort Good Hope, N.W.T., on Friday, according to RCMP.

Police said they got a call around 7 p.m. that evening that a person had been stabbed multiple times. They said they arrested the suspect without incident and also searched a home where the incident was believed to have happened.

Police say the suspect knew the victim, who was medevaced out of the community with serious injuries. They don't believe there's risk to the public.

The accused was released from custody with conditions, said police, and is expected to appear in court in June.
