Southwest coast fishery from 1966
Back in 1966, the southwest coast fishery in this province was booming.
Fish merchant Jim Hardy had created a bit of an empire in that part of the province.
Hardy was excited to see fishermen prospering.
Land & Sea host Dave Quinton interviewed Hardy, and visited wharves in Rose Blanche and Port aux Basques, where giant halibut were being hauled in off the longliners.
