First Listen: Real Tough Love by Janet Cull
Janet Cull collaborates with N.L. songwriters and musicians for "honest record"
Janet Cull says the title track from her new solo album, Real Tough Love, set the tone for the rest of the project.
"I really connected with the title," said Cull, "And the songs kind of came from there."
In addition to the song Real Tough Love, written by Kalem Mahoney, Cull has recorded songs by other Newfoundland and Labrador songwriters, including Mick Davis, Andrew LeDrew, and Virginia Fudge.
Cull said she collaborated with many of her musical friends on the soul and gospel tinged album.
."Even though it's Janet Cull, it's a sum of the parts," said Cull.
"It's a honest record of my style."
