Driver killed in single-vehicle crash on Labrador highway

A 46-year-old man died in a single vehicle crash on Route 510 north of Charlottetown Junction on Tuesday, according to the RCMP.

A 46-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash on Route 510 north of Charlottetown Junction in southern Labrador on Tuesday, according to the RCMP.

Police from Mary's Harbour and Forteau responded to the collision shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a news release issued Wednesday afternoon. 

The vehicle left the roadway and rolled down an embankment.

Police said the man — who was the only occupant of the vehicle — died at the scene.

A collision analyst is part of an RCMP investigation into the crash, according to police, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is also involved.
