Two women are dead after a head-on collision on Highway 75, south of St. Norbert, Man.

RCMP say a car was going the wrong way on Highway 75 and collided head-on with another car. The car going the wrong way then hit the ditch and caught fire.

The 21-year-old driver from Winnipeg was transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the other car, a 26-year-old woman from Winnipeg, was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP say alcohol and speed were factors in Sunday's crash, which has now brought the weekend death toll on Manitoba highways up to five.

On Friday night, two people died after a truck went the wrong way on the Trans-Canada Highway. That same night a 27-year-old Brandon man died following a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway.
