2 dead after truck going wrong way smashes into van near MacGregor, Man.

Two people are dead after a truck driving the wrong way on the Trans-Canada Highway crashed into a minivan Friday night.

Two people are dead after a truck driving the wrong way on the Trans-Canada Highway crashed into a minivan Friday night.

Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to the collision just after 8 p.m. CT after reports of a speeding pickup truck driving east in the westbound lane of the highway.

The 63-year-old man behind the wheel crashed into the 29-year-old male driver of the westbound minivan just east of MacGregor, Man., RCMP said. 

Both were wearing seatbelts but pronounced dead at the scene

RCMP don't yet know if alcohol was involved in the crash.

The investigation continues.
