A 27-year-old man from Brandon died after a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway Friday night.

RCMP were called to the highway at Provincial Road 101 in the Rural Municipality of Cornwallis around 9:20 p.m. after reports of a two-vehicle crash.

The man was headed westbound in a truck when his vehicle hit the back of a semi-trailer that had turned into the westbound lane of the highway, RCMP said.

The 45-year-old man driving the semi-trailer was not injured.

RCMP said alcohol is not considered a factor and the investigation is ongoing.
