Police look for potential witness in Cambridge shooting

Waterloo regional police are looking for a potential witness seen leaving the area where a shooting occurred in Cambridge.

Police say witness took a taxi to area of Weber Street E. in Kitchener and fled on foot

Waterloo regional police are looking to speak to a potential witness of a fatal shooting at a Cambridge plaza on July 31.

Officers responded to a call around 7:40 p.m that night in the area near Franklin Boulevard and Jamieson Parkway.

Police say the witness took a taxi to the area of Weber Street E. in Kitchener and fled on foot. The individual is asked to call police.

Investigators believe two groups of men in two separate cars were involved in an altercation at the plaza.

Kyle Parthe, 20, was found with serious injuries at the scene. He was taken to hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Police continue to search for two suspects that left the area in a black BMW sedan.

One suspect is described to have a puffy face with no facial hair and black hair. The second suspect is a man between the ages of 25 and 30 and was wearing glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
