Fatal crash in Surrey kills 2, hospitalizes 3

Surrey RCMP are looking for witnesses to the crash which happened at the intersection of 88 Avenue and 152nd Street early Sunday morning.

One patient died in hospital, and another is in critical condition

Two people are dead and three are in hospital, after a three-car collision in Surrey early Sunday morning.

First responders arrived at crash at 88th Avenue and 152nd Street around 12:30 a.m. and transported four people to hospital.

Two patients were transported in stable condition, and two others in critical condition.

A fifth person was pronounced dead at the scene, and one of the patients later died in hospital.

"At this point, we're trying to sort out what happened," Staff Sgt. Dale Carr with Surrey RCMP said.

"We don't know at this point what the cause of the crash was and whether alcohol or speed were a factor. We're not able to confirm that at this time."

RCMP's Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service have shut down the intersection as they continue the investigation.
