Michael Bublé's vocal cord surgery goes well, says doctor
Canadian crooner sings after surgery, doctor gently chastises "a little more voice rest"
Michael Bublé's vocal cord surgery has gone well, says his doctor, and the award-winning Canadian crooner should soon be back to singing.
The Burnaby, B.C. singer posted a video of his doctor on Instagram on Tuesday, saying "Congratulations Michael. The surgery went really well and your voice looks fantastic."
The doctor added that Bublé can start the rehab process but should ease back into singing slowly and gingerly.
Bublé responded by winking and singing a high-pitched line of, "I believe I can fly," to which the good doctor chastised, "a little more voice rest."
Bublé also praised his doctor, saying he helped put him at ease through a difficult time. He was not allowed to talk or sing prior to the surgery.
A Juno and Grammy Award-winner, Bublé has sold more than 50 million records and performed for millions of fans around the globe.
He had been set to receive the National Arts Centre Award at the upcoming Governor General's Performing Arts Awards in Ottawa in June. His presentation will be moved to 2017.
