Canada's Walk of Fame to add Michael Bublé, Don Cherry, Silken Laumann
Ron MacLean, Lawrence Hill, Wendy Crewson and Lorne Greene round out list
Pop crooner Michael Bublé, hockey broadcasting duo Don Cherry and Ron MacLean, author Lawrence Hill and Olympic rower Silken Laumann will be the latest inductees to Canada's Walk of Fame this fall.
Organizers unveiled this year's list of honourees in Toronto Tuesday.
Actor Wendy Crewson and the late Lorne Greene round out the list for 2015, with Greene being recognized as a Cineplex Legends Inductee, a posthumous honour for a Canadian pioneer from the world of film, television, music, sports, arts or innovation.
"Our mission at Canada's Walk of Fame is simple -– to celebrate Canadian excellence, and to inspire the next generation," Walk of Fame CEO Melanie Hurley said in a statement.
"This year's inductees truly represent this mission, and the legacy they are creating for Canada is something we should all be proud of."
This year's gala will also see teen singer Shawn Mendes receive the Allan Slaight Honour, which recognizes young, inspirational Canadians who have achieved international music industry success.
The 2015 inductees will be feted at a gala in Toronto on Nov. 7.
Each year, Canada's Walk of Fame honours a handful of Canadians who have achieved excellence in different arenas, ranging from music, TV or film to sports, science, innovation and literature.
The names of inductees are engraved on stars, which are then embedded into the sidewalk near King Street West and Simcoe Street in downtown Toronto's Entertainment District.
