Liam, Olivia top B.C.'s annual list of baby names

Two recent favourites once again topped the list of the most popular names for babies born last year in B.C., according to the annual list issued by the Ministry of Health.

Two recent favourites once again topped the list of the most popular names for babies born last year in B.C., according to the annual list issued by the Ministry of Health.

For the second year in a row, and for the fourth time in five years, Olivia was the most popular name chosen for girls born in B.C. in 2013.

For boys, Liam reclaimed the top spot in 2013, after falling to second place to Ethan in 2012.

The list of names for babies born in the proceeding year is released every December by B.C.'s Ministry of Health.

In total there were 43,925 babies born in B.C. in 2013, which included 22,491 boys and 21,434 girls.
