Dunbar crash sends 2 young men to hospital

Witness says the car struck a power pole on West 41st Avenue near Olympic Street, after it swerved while trying to change lanes.

Victims suffered serious injuries, but were taken to hospital in stable condition

Two young men are in hospital after they crashed their car into a power pole in Dunbar late Saturday night.

One witness said the driver of the car swerved while changing lanes, after he failed to spot a row of white poles dividing two lanes on West 41st Avenue near Olympic Street. The car ended up hitting a power pole on the street corner.

The same witness said the driver appeared to be intoxicated at the time.

First responders were on the scene and transported both young men to hospital.

The driver suffered injuries to one of his hands, and the passenger had serious injuries to his neck. Both were in stable condition at the time.
