Come out for this Wednesday's CBC Musical Nooner with Vancouver soul dynamo Dawn Pemberton.

Pemberton has a deep musical foundation rooted in tradition. Her voice has been a staple in Western Canada's funk and soul scene for the better part of a decade. Her debut album, Say Somethin' was released just last year.

Heavily influenced by rhythm, she is drawn to the percolating under current of soul-jazz and funk that is infused in everything that she does.

Pemberton has shared the stage with the likes of Maceo Parker, John Lee Sanders, The Sojourners, John Boutté and Dutch Robinson
