Vancouver's Tanga will bring their Latin grooves and electronic beats to the CBC Musical Nooners stage on Friday.

Tanga was formed in 2007 by frontman and trumpeter Malcolm Aiken, who is an international touring artist and music educator. Tanga emerged from a collective of young West Coast musicians and producers who experimented with Latin jazz and pop, and cut their teeth playing in salsa bands.

Their second full-length album Havanalectro was recorded in Vancouver and Havana. Released in 2013, it features collaborations with both international and local musicians such as rapper Kyprios and beat poet C.R. Avery.

Tanga recently performed at the 2015 Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
