Long, long drives: 'Kim's Convenience' co-creators have a defining Canadian memory in common

The co-creators of 'Kim’s Convenience' have more than the show's success in common: they share a quintessential Canadian childhood memory: camping.

'The reward was seeing the rockies for the first time. It was amazing.'

Kevin White and Ins Choi share more than just the success of Kim's Convenience, they also share a quintessential childhood adventure: car camping. Both of their families packed up and trekked across the Great White North experiencing the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the vastness of the prairie skies from their tent trailers.

They may have been roughing it but the reward of experiencing the great Canadian landscape first hand will always be a key part of White and Choi's most memorable Canadian moments.

White and Choi are nominated for best writing in a comedy program or series at the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards, which airs Sunday, March 12 at 8 pm/8:30 NT on CBC.
