'Kim's Convenience' star Simu Liu thanks his immigrant parents for his Canadian life
"The parts that make us different are the parts that make us strong."
For Simu Liu, the most important aspect of Canadian culture is how inclusive and accepting this nation is. The Kim's Convenience star attributes his success to his immigrant parents, who left Communist China and created a new life for themselves in Canada.
Simu is nominated for "Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Program or Series" at the Canadian Screen Awards for his work in Blood & Water. Kim's Convenience has received eleven Canadian Screen Awards nominations.
You can meet Simu Liu in person at this year's Family Fan Day event on March 11. Don't miss the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards airing Sunday, March 12 at 8 pm/8:30 NT on CBC.
