Regent Park School of Music's feature on Taylor Swift's new album proves it's all within reach for students
The students of Toronto's Regent Park School of Music got a big surprise last Friday when Taylor Swift released her latest album, Lover. The youth choir's music was sampled on the song It's Nice to Have a Friend, where they can be heard playing instruments and singing backup.
With the help of Canadian super-producer Frank Dukes, the students recorded the original composition, which was made available to Swift (and any other artist who wants to use it) through Dukes' Kingsway Music Library.
Richard Marsella, the director of Regent Park School of Music, and 17-year-old Mwinyi, one of the student musicians featured on Swift's new album, joined q guest host Ali Hassan to tell us more about their whirlwind week.
