North Korean men MUST have hair cut like Kim Jong-un
His regime is, by all accounts, barbaric. And now, in what seems like a satirical story but sadly isn't, it's becoming barber-ic.
If you've seen North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, you have no doubt noticed his haircut. It is dumb. Or, to be more objective, it's short-to-the-point-of-shaved on the sides, longish and pompadour-y on top, and comes to a point on the back of his head. There's a chance it's the best haircut for some person on Earth, but there is no chance it's the best haircut for a tyrant whose head is the shape and approximate size of a ham.
Nevertheless, according to media reports, it's not just the haircut for him -- it's now the haircut for all men in North Korea. The mandatory haircut. The punishment for not getting it is undisclosed, but you can rest assured there is one. There's no proof, mind you, that the story is necessarily true. The executive director of an N-G-O that does work in North Korea has been quoted as saying, "I'm pretty sure that this is just stupid." Which is true whether the story is or not.
Of course, in North Korea, being forced to wear the same atrocious haircut as your despotic leader is really the least of your problems.
