Ontario's police watchdog is investigating after a Sarnia police vehicle headed to an emergency call and another car collided, injuring the car's 80-year-old driver.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) says the police vehicle and the car collided at an intersection on Aug. 26. The car's driver was taken to hospital with a serious injury.

Two investigators, a forensic investigator and a collision reconstructionist have been assigned the case, according to the SIU, which investigates police conduct.

The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation, including video or photos, to contact them.
