Sarnia police say they're looking for the person who vandalized 11 vehicles on Wednesday night at a business on Campbell Street.

Someone entered the property in the 700 block of Campbell at around 9:43 p.m., according to a news release issued Friday by the Sarnia Police Service.

The vehicles belonged to customers of the business.

The damage consisted of slashed tires and deep scratch marks in the paint.

Police estimated the value of the damage to be between $30,000 and $40,000.

There does not appear to be any motive for the crime, they said, calling it a "senseless act of vandalism."

The person responsible was wearing a black jacket, baggy black pants, a grey hood over their head, a dark face covering and black and white gloves and was holding a small blade, police said.

After leaving the property, they proceeded north on Ontario Street.

The Sarnia Police Service is asking businesses in the area to check vehicles on their property for similar damage.

It is also asking businesses and residents in the area to check cameras that might have captured the individual coming or going from the property.

It's asking anyone with information to contact Det. Cst. Aiden Fraser at (519) 344-8861 ext. 6249. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit tips online at www.p3tips.com.
