Regular subway service restarts on Line 2 after earlier shutdown
Shutdown caused by track-level fire near Ossington Station
Regular subway service has started again on Line 2 after an earlier shutdown saw trains stop running between Keele and St George stations.
The service outage was caused by a minor fire at track level near Ossington Station. The blaze was first spotted around 6 a.m. and was extinguished by TTC staff before firefighters arrived.
Service resumed on the line shortly before 8 a.m.
The transit agency also warned subway riders on Line 1 there may be 10-minute delays this morning while it fixes a signal issue that's affecting service between Dupont and Union stations.
Meanwhile, Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for the city and surrounding areas. The federal weather agency says a cold front could bring periods of heavy snow and high winds, making for messy conditions on roads.
