Subway service has resumed on Line 1 between Wilson and Lawrence West following several hours of disruption after emergency repairs were completed, the TTC said on Wednesday.

Workers found a gap within the power rail at the southbound track at Yorkdale station around 6 a.m., a spokesperson for the TTC said.

Service was down from around 6:30 a.m. until just before noon while crews worked on repairs. Riders were redirected to shuttle buses.

"We certainly recognize and acknowledge the frustration for our customers this morning, particularly given the cold temperatures," TTC spokesperson Stuart Green said. "We definitely apologize for that."

Service was initially suspended between Sheppard West and Lawrence West earlier Wednesday morning.
