Police are investigating after someone found possible human remains on the property of a country club in the east end of St. John's Thursday.

RNC Const. James Cadigan said police have cordoned off an area at the end of the Bally Haly Country Club that's adjacent to the town of Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove.

The historic golf club moved to its current location off Stavanger Drive in 2023, taking over the former Clovelly golf club.

Cadigan said police were called around 10 a.m. NT, and a search and rescue team as well as the Chief Medical Examiner are on the scene.

He said police are waiting for the Chief Medical Examiner's findings.
