TCH temporarily closed after tractor-trailer jackknifes in western Newfoundland
A tractor-trailer travelling along the Trans-Canada Highway jacknifed on the road near South Branch, N.L., blocking traffic in all directions, RCMP said early Friday morning. It was later removed.
Traffic was blocked for a few hours early Friday morning after a tractor-trailer jacknifed while travelling along the Trans-Canada Highway on Newfoundland's west coast, police said.
The RCMP said all four lanes of the TCH were obstructed near South Branch, a community north of Port aux Basques and about 110 kilometres south of Stephenville.
A few hours later, the tractor trailer was removed.
"All four lanes of the TCH are now open," said an RCMP statement sent at 6:13 a.m. NT.
