A derailed train closed a stretch of Highway 16 west of Portage la Prairie Monday morning.
All lanes on Highway 16 were closed and the highway was impassable, Manitoba's Transportation Department said.
The highway has now reopened, according to information on the Manitoba 511 online road report.
The derailment happened north of the intersection with Highway 1.
Six rail cars derailed at 4:15 a.m., RCMP Sgt. Paul Manaigre said in an email. None carried dangerous goods, and no injuries have been reported.
The CN Police Service is investigating, Manaigre said.
